The Retreat Team
The retreat team includes Carmelite friars, Eugene McCaffrey OCD, Frank Gallagher OCD and Bob Davies OCD, and a Methodist minister, Martin Wray.
Tabor also has a dedicated team of voluntary helpers who support the team in the everyday running of the retreat house.
. Eugene McCaffrey OCDEugene is a Carmelite priest.He was born in Sligo and taught for many years in a secondary school before spending a number of years in Australia. He was involved in parish ministry for twelve years and was a member of the Carmelite Centre for Spirituality in Dublin before becoming Prior of Tabor Retreat House in Preston.He has written many articles on Carmelite spirituality and is author of 'Patterns of Prayer' | Martin WrayMartin is an ordained minister of the Methodist Church . Martin began his working life as a chef before offering himself for the ministry. Ordained in 1975, Martin trained in Bristol and Ohio,USA. His special interests include the English Mystics and the work of Evelyn Underhill and he has also written about Spirituality in the Second Half of Life. Martin is married to Anne and has three children and two grandchildren. | | Frank Gallagher OCDFrank is a Carmelite priest, born in Co.Donegal, Ireland. He made his solemn profession in 1980, and was ordained to the priesthood in May 1981. He spent 17 years in parish ministry in both England and Ireland. He was a member of Mount Carmel Retreat Centre in Glasgow for four years before joining the community at Tabor. | Bob Davies OCDJoined the Carmelites at Boars Hill in March 1994. First Profession on 11th September 1995 and Ordained 16th July 2001 at Gerrards Cross. After 5 years studies at Milltown Park in Dublin he spent nearly 2 years at Gerrards Cross before moving to Boars Hill, Oxford for 6 years before moving to Tabor in Preston in December 2008. | | | | |
